Switzerland No Longer Paying Interest On Early Tax Payments

In an October 15, 2020, statement, the Swiss Government announced it will not pay interest on federal taxes paid early.

The statement said: “The Federal Department of Finance (FDF) has decided not to pay any interest for early payments of direct federal tax for the 2021 calendar year.”

“The rates for the default interest and the refund interest also remain unchanged.” The relevant rate is three percent.
